53rd Anniversary Fundraiser

The M Ensemble Company has spent the last 53 years providing the Miami-Dade area with a wide variety of theater performances.

M Ensemble Company is the oldest African-American theater company in all of Florida and provides shows for people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy.

M Ensemble Company was founded in 1971 by T.G Cooper and his wife Grace. Their goal: give African American Americans in Florida a place to perform and promote their culture through theater.

The Cooper’s goal is something that the M Ensemble Company lives up to even today, evidenced by one of their latest hits ‘Kings of Harlem’, a story that exemplifies M Ensemble Company’s mission to provide excellent theater that speaks to the African American experience.

‘Kings of Harlem’, written and directed by Layon Gray, won M Ensemble Company several awards at the 42nd annual Carbonell Awards. The awards won include Best Director, Best Ensemble, Best Supporting Actor and Best Production.
